Brezo was born in the early 90's. However, its origins have deep and distant roots. In the San Francisco neighborhood of Santander (where Brezo was born) a strong desire to travel and to capture everything in photographs, especially slides, was developed. Partly as a personal memory but, very frequently, with a vision of making known to other groups (schools, parishes, associations, institutes ....) Everything that was seen and known. The reports about the Third World are very important.
Heather is composed of 12-14 people cut by the same employer. We all like to travel; We try to capture everything in image and transmit to others the experiences we have lived.
All members have audiovisual material although the largest volume is that of Ernesto with 80,000 slides and many hours of video collected throughout 70 countries visited by him. After each trip a story is produced that is taught by various centers. The last one has been to Haiti. And now one is preparing for Brazil to know the work of Bishop Casaldáliga in Mato Grosso with the indigenous people exploited and mistreated by the landlords; the MST (movement of the landless) and street children in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
We give projections and some exhibition where we are called.
Little by little our action has been focused on strengthening and coordinating small solidarity groups that are in the area of Trasmiera. Through mentalization, action is taken. Small projects and financial contributions to help specific situations are emerging, mainly in Latin America.
In these moments in which the Administration (local, regional and national) is reluctant to collaborate with the needs of the Third World, we see that the generous and solidary effort of the people is increasing despite the crisis that, on the other hand, is the apology that the politicians and the Administration put in order to get rid of the problem.
